Andrew and I are almost completely finished with the invitations. I have been writing in (relative) calligraphy on the envelopes, looking up 500+ rules on etiquette in the process for the proper way to do so. I'm sure I missed a few rules, so please be forgiving if you get yours and are a descendant (literally or figuratively) of Emily Post. We finished the design and wording for the invites as well and picked up our final box of stationery today. So close! Now all that is left (aside from the ones I have yet to address) is having them printed and assembled. More DIY tasks. I did one tonight just for a trial and it is basically adorable. The envelope-stuffing will probably commence when Belmont returns from camp. :)
(Camp, you ask? Yes, he is a camp counselor this week at a youth retreat. He left 9.5 hours ago, but the missing has already begun. I sure do like that boy.)
This afternoon, Stephanie, Sarah, (both former college roommates) and I had a roommate reunion and went to pick out the fabric for my wedding dress. Hooray! We got it (it's quite lovely!) and it is now at Stephanie's house waiting to be assembled. We are going to start with the skirt and see how things shape up from there. (Not sure yet which waist line would be most flattering.) First fitting = approx. 2 weeks from today. This wedding date just keeps getting closer!
After our girl date ended, I headed back to the store to pick up supplies to start making the bridesmaids' gifts. I have been doing my research and came up with an idea I really like. Each girl's will look slightly different (hopefully matching her taste!) but they will all be the same thing. I started on Annie Blue's tonight and it is looking pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. It is not assembled yet, however, so time will tell. I am hoping to stay sane while I make these. That is my goal. :)
I wish I had pictures to show you, but I am not sure whose camera was doing all of the chronicling. This Sunday, I had a second bridal shower-- this time with a few friends of my future mother-in-law, Cindy. It was so sweet! Along with summery treats (such as pink lemonade!), I got to meet a lot of her friends (each with their own stories about my fiancé). They were all incredibly generous and we received so many beautiful things to put in our new home! We got most of our bedding, a few more kitchen items, and various décor (the outside hanging lanterns being Andrew's favorites since they seemed the manliest, of course). If I get a hold of any pictures, I will be sure to post them! The little storage room in the Youth House basement is filling up with household items for the future Mr. and Mrs. Belmont from our fabulous family and friends. :)
It is exactly TWO MONTHS until we get married!!! It seems a little too surreal at times to believe. AND two months (or so) after that, we will have a baby NEPHEW!!! Dusty and Will found out today that they are expecting a baby boy. I am thankful for new life and for a new life together.
Many summery regards to each of you!
