33 years of marriage

Tomorrow is my parents' 33rd wedding anniversary!  They have been married for many more years than they each were singles.  (As someone who has only been married for 3 years, that is crazy to ponder!)  They have built such a beautiful, loving marriage as they lean on God and trust His plan for their lives.  Where would we be without their example and guidance??  Here are some pictures from each of our weddings, as we are following in their footsteps one by one.  (I sadly do not have any of their wedding pics on my computer!)

 Aren't they so cute??

My mother was more stunning than the bride!

We are all so proud to call them our parents!  Moreover, now Will, Belmont, and Melissa are proud to have them as parents(-in-law) and Eldon and Graham to have them as grandparents!  They are such a beautiful couple, and I wish we were with them to celebrate on their special day.

Mom and Pop, thank you for always reminding us that your marriage holds a central place in your lives, second to your relationship with God, and that we kids did not hold a higher place in your affections than you have for one another.  Thank you for living out the gospel, albeit imperfectly, as you continue to grow and learn to love one another well in so many different stages of life.  Thank you for serving alongside one another as you minister to those around you.  Thank you for showing us an earthly picture of Christ and the Church through your marriage.  Thank you for reminding us of the importance of our own marriages and love for our spouses as we follow in your footsteps.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We love you so much and hope that God allows you to remain here on earth to celebrate another 33 years together.  Happy anniversary, you lovebirds!
